About the course

The management of the medical effects of major incidents and disasters is one of the most difficult tasks to be performed by medical practitioners. The incidents of such events are increasing world wide and medical staff are often at the forefront of dealing with the effects.

This 5-day workshop will provide an approach to dealing with such incidents in terms of both incident management and medical management. Table Top simulations as well as Case Studies and a live exercise will be used to prepare the students for dealing with such an eventuality.

The workshop builds on the basics as taught in the MIMMS (Major Incident Medical Management and Support) and HMIMMS (Hospital Major Incident, Medical Management and Support) courses and provides first responders as well as heath management with the insight and skills required to deal with major incidents
