About the course
This leadership course seeks to address these challenge, and drive systems change, with prioritisation given to the following: (i) increasing inter-sectoral coordination and collaboration; (ii) improving service design and delivery of services; (iii) increasing transparency and clarity of financial information & budget allocation; (iv) leveraging regulatory frameworks to ensure access to services; (v) partnership development.
This course is for government officials at the policy and implementation levels (South African Police Services (SAPS), Department of Justice (DoJ), National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), Department of Health (DoH), Department of Social Development (DSD), NGOs and funding institutions in the GBV sector. This course is specifically designed for individuals who hold positions in middle and top management.
Core thematic areas include:
- Just energy transitions and renewable energy in Africa;
- Green industrialisation in Africa;
- Regional integration and supply chains;
- Critical mineral supply and renewable technologies; and
- Technological innovation for climate-resilient development.
Successful course participants will be able to:
- Identify the levers of transformative change toward sustainability and Africa’s green structural transformation
- Draw on Africa-Europe relations to advance the green transition
- Design and implement public policies or business strategies that place sustainability and equitable development at their core
- Design or scale structurally transformative practices within your organization and professional environment
- Communicate effectively and advocate for sustainability, the just transition and development
- Understand Africa’s most pressing development and sustainability challenges and generate fit for purpose solutions to address them

Learning Objectives - the aim of the course is to:
- Build critical and strategic thinking around GBV issues and related interventions for civil society and government officials
- Develop a deeper understanding of the bigger picture/system view
- Develop the ability to understand and map the system
- Offer a basic understanding of how government policy and budgeting processes work to inform intervention practices
- Strengthen the ability to use power effectively and responsibly to ensure accountability within the system
- Offer knowledge, experience and opportunities to practice collaboration and build relationships across sectors
- Share tools and strategies on how to work in collaboration (and enable collaboration)
- Foster a network of motivated and inspired change agents
Registration
Applicants complete an application form, and a selection process determines who will be offered places on the programme.

Professionals committed to advancing African-European cooperation with a strong focus on the green transition, climate action and sustainable development.
Managers and executives in the public sector, in non-governmental organisations, and in impact-driven international businesses working to address current sustainable development and transition challenges.
Minimum requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree
Are engaged in, or have influence over, strategic decision-making within your organisation.
