Microsoft PowerPoint: Advanced Techniques

About the course

You know PowerPoint. Now let's make it extraordinary. This workshop is for confident PowerPoint users who want to unlock its most powerful and creative capabilities — the tools that make presentations genuinely memorable.

In a single, fast-paced half-day session, you'll explore advanced slide design techniques including Morph transitions, Zoom and 3D models; create complex info-graphics and interactive elements with live data; and harness PowerPoint's AI features — Designer and Ideas — to work faster and smarter. You'll also cover advanced animation timelines, motion paths, custom templates, high-quality multimedia integration and real-time collaboration in Teams and OneDrive.

This is a workshop, not a course — it moves quickly and rewards those who come prepared. Completion of PowerPoint Essential Skills or strong working knowledge of PowerPoint is required. Bring your curiosity and expect to be surprised by what PowerPoint can do.

Course content

• Use 3D models, Morph transitions and Zoom for visually striking slide design
• Create complex infographics and visualise data with impact
• Embed interactive charts and live data linked directly from Excel
• Control advanced animations using motion paths, triggers and timeline techniques
• Use PowerPoint Designer and Ideas to accelerate design with AI
• Co-author presentations in real time and collaborate via Teams and OneDrive
• Design and implement custom templates and themes for brand consistency
• Integrate high-quality video and connect to streaming platforms
• Master keyboard shortcuts, hidden features and efficiency tips that save time every day

Certification

On successful completion of this course, participants receive a UCT ICTS Certificate of Completion. Attendance at both sessions is required.
