General English Standard Course (GE20)

About the course

The Standard course is ideal for students who want to improve their English while having plenty of time to enjoy Cape Town. With 20 lessons per week, you’ll build your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills through practical English lessons, with your afternoons free for independent study, activities or exploring the city.

The General English course is taught over six levels: beginner, elementary, pre-intermediate, intermediate, upper intermediate and advanced.

Course content

The morning consists of communicative language teaching lessons, which will focus on all the skills and systems of English Language. The last hour of the day is a conversation class, encouraging students to communicate in a relaxed setting using a task-based teaching approach.

Registration

This course is offered by UCT English Language Centre (ELC). Enrol and pay directly with the course provider. Once the booking is submitted, ELC will provide the information needed to confirm enrolment.
