About the course
In this module you will learn about the basics of research integrity and the field’s relationship to research ethics. You will be given some practical advice and tips, directed to useful research integrity resources and you will have the opportunity to practice research integrity through exposure to scenarios and dilemmas. We hope you will leave this module with an understanding of why fostering research integrity is beneficial to you personally and to the research enterprise in general.
Course Content
This is an introductory course and covers:
- What is research integrity, including definitions and a brief background
- What is the relationship between ethics and integrity
- Resources and guidance documents to support responsible research practice
The course contains a formative knowledge check to enable you to gauge you progress and understanding. Additionally, there is a summative final assessment, which will trigger an email confirming completion of the course and competence.
Registration
For UCT staff, the modules are currently hosted on HR’s SuccessFactors (SF) Learning Management System. You can access the courses by simply logging in to the platform and searching for them.
