About the course
In this module, you will be introduced to responsible writing and authoring practices including strategies for avoiding plagiarism, self-plagiarism and other problematic publication practices. We hope you will leave this module with strategies, tools and resources to approach referencing and citation and to avoid plagiarism in all its forms.
Course Content
This course covers:
- Understanding what plagiarism is, and associated problematic writing practices
- Strategies to implement responsible writing practices
- Resources and guidance documents to support responsible writing practice
The course contains a formative knowledge check to enable you to gauge you progress and understanding. Additionally, there is a summative final assessment, which will trigger an email confirming completion of the course and competence.
Registration
For UCT staff, the modules are currently hosted on HR’s SuccessFactors (SF) Learning Management System. You can access the courses by simply logging in to the platform and searching for them.
